geographic situation

The GNO's provincial mandate gives it a unique status. First and foremost, the GNO serves the interests of its active members, all of them being French-speaking visual artists active in contemporary arts in Ontario. Through it's programming, the GNO fosters the emergence of contemporary and experimental art as well as the professional development of artists.

As the only artist-run centre in the City of Greater Sudbury, the GNO serves other Francophone creators (poets, musicians…) as well as the Anglophone artistic community, which has twenty associate members as regular participants in the centre's various activities. It offers the community a new, professional level production that improves its quality of life.
